Andrew Bosworth, Meta’s chief technology officer, has acknowledged that the company’s recent reorganization of its artificial intelligence division was “atrocious.” This admission came in an internal memo where Bosworth addressed employees, promising a more stable and communicative work environment, along with the reintroduction of workplace perks aimed at boosting morale.
The AI reorganization involved the establishment of a new artificial intelligence division within Meta Platforms Inc. However, reports from WIRED indicated significant employee dissatisfaction with the process. In response to these concerns, Bosworth stated that Meta plans to focus on improving internal culture, aiming to “rekindle” a more positive atmosphere.
To achieve this, the company will implement improvements in several key areas: communication, opportunities for career growth, and the return of workplace amenities. Bosworth specifically mentioned the reintroduction of snacks as part of these efforts to enhance the employee experience. These changes are intended to address the widespread discontent that has surfaced following the AI restructuring.
